This is a fantastic package for the serious collectors of WWII pistols and 1911A1’s in particular. After the war, all contracts for the M1911A1 were cancelled. This says a lot for Remington Rand, despite having a few problems in the early part of 1943 as they tried to ramp up production. Remington Rand produced 958,764 licensed copies of the M1911A1 for the war effort between 1942–1945. would a du-lite finish be correct in this range Also, would it be any more or less collectable than a standard parkerized I will post pictures if I can figure out how. The finish is different than my Colts or Ithica A1's.
